Halloween is finally here! You may be mentally prepared for a frightful night of trick-or-treating, but are your feet and back ready? Dr. Tracy Stiles has some tips to help prevent back pain as you hit the Chicago streets for a night of trick-or-treating!
Bring a Stroller To Prevent Scary Back Pain
As a parent coming to our Chicago chiropractic practice, you may already have already heard some tips on how to prevent and avoid back pain, so be sure to bring a stroller. Being on your feet for a long period of time can be tough for anyone, but especially so when you have to carry a young child. Not to mention how long a night of trick-or-treating is for their little legs! Strollers are a great tool for preventing back pain for both you and your little monster. Rather than assume your child can make the long walk from house to house collecting candy, do yourself a favor and remember the stroller.
Wear Your Walking Shoes
If you’re really going for creativity this year with your costume, don’t forget footwear! When you get to walking, you’ll want to be in supportive and comfortable shoes. if you wear shoes that alter your stride, you man cause pain or even injury to your spine. One of the best ways to scare off back pain is to make sure your feet are comfortable. When you start putting on your Halloween costume, double-check your footwear and make sure it is a comfortable pair of shoes you can wear as you trek through town.
